Will You Be One Fat Statistic By 2048?
If we continue the way we have been so far, it is estimated that by the year 2048, all of us will be overweight.
Sound a little preposterous? Think about it. Two thirds of the population is already there!
Think your health care costs are high now, then pull up your shorts because you haven’t seen anything yet.
So my question to you is, are you going to be one of them?
Can you be healthy and overweight? Yes, you can and you can be thin and unhealthy too. Most of us however, who carry extra weight, even while healthy, will have problems later. There is just no getting away from it.
And if your wish is to live to be 100, you better start doing something proactive right now because although it was projected that the maximum lifespan would reach 100 in roughly six decades, this projection is slowly swinging in the other direction because of the increased risk of obesity-caused diabetes, heart disease and cancer.
That means our children will have shorter life spans than their parents.
Is that acceptable to you? It sure doesn’t sit right with me!
Expounding on the health risks of obesity is not going to help reverse this trend. We all know being overweight is not good for us.
The side effects alone just from taking medication can mess up your system, so is there a better way?
Before I answer that you might be wondering what’s causing us to be overweight in the first place.
Many theories abound and the most plausible suggest that:
- Our modern day food system is letting us down totally. With the use of HFCSs, refined grains, processed foods and artificial sweeteners, there’s no getting away from weight gain.
- We are just getting too lazy. Although we know that exercise is recommended, we still drive our cars around the corner to the 7-11 and spend long hours glued to the television or video game.
- We overeat to fill a need. How so? You might be feeling a little depressed and to make yourself feel better, you’ll grab some ice cream to savor over. You know that it’s not right to do it too often, but you reason it out to alleviate your guilt. How much more stress do you want to add to your life?
- Our environment is now so dirty that there is no getting away from the toxins we are burdening our bodies with. There comes a time when it just can’t keep up anymore and there pops out some symptom of some “dis” “ease”.
- Our diet plays such a large role that if you are a big sugar and grain eater, then you are negatively influencing the friendly bacteria in your gut, which contributes to obesity.
- So now you’re so stressed by all of the above, that you’re losing sleep over it. This also contributes to obesity.
So now to get back to the question I posed above: Is there a better way?
You know there is. It all starts with cleansing the crap out and replenishing with the proper trace minerals and nutrients your body needs to repair the damage done up to date.
Keeping my doctor’s bill down is much easier now.
