Just go and do groceries and you will, without thinking twice, bring home unhealthy products. Many of these products are known carcinogens.
Is it a matter of not being informed or is it more a matter of cloaking the truth from the unsuspecting consumer.
It really is a case for both!
Your grocery store is plentifully stocked with wolves in sheep’s clothing. Here are some tips to help you steer clear of hidden toxins that masquerade as safe products.
- Do you eat meat sandwiches? Well, if they come in a sealed pouch or were sliced at the deli, they contain sodium nitrates. Sodium nitrate can lead to cancer because they form nitrosamines in your system.
- Leave the cans behind. Canned goods are commonly lined with bisphenol-A. It has been associated with diabetes and heart disease.
- Want to sweeten stuff but don’t want to use sugar? Well you better not choose artificial sweeteners either. Sweeteners such as aspartame can lead to nerve cell damage, dizziness and headaches. Try Stevia or Xylitol. That means also to stay away from diet soda.
- Do you like chicken? Did you know that the Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy found traces of arsenic in non-organic chickens? If you didn’t know, then be wary and know that this dangerous chemical can lead to cancer, diabetes and heart disease. Chickens are also given antibiotics as prevention against infection. The only reason they need it is because of crowded conditions that restrain the birds from walking around and being free range.
- Are you a snack lover? Well beware that your favorite snack has preservatives in the for of hydrogenated oils to lengthen the self life. These are found in crackers and cookies, have high fructose corn syrup, loads of saflt and other “not good for your” ingredients.
- We don’ t hear so much about artificial colorants in food. Candy, marachino cherries and gelatin are full of them and when mice and rats are exposed to blue 1 and 2, red 3 and yellow 6, they suffered brain, adrenal gland, thyroid and kidney damage, to name a few.
- Solve part of your toxin exposure by buying organic produce. This will reduce your exposure to pesticides which can lead to nervous and reproductive system damage, even cancer.
- Do you trust your cookware? If you have nonstick pans, then you’re out of luck because they release noxious gases at high temps which will impact your health negatively.
- Throw that microwave out the door. First of all, it kills everything that may be nutritious in the food you are cooking and if you are cooking it in a plastic bowl, dish or container, it will also expose the food to bispphenol-A and contaminate it.
- And I can’t stress enough the importance of cleansing the body of these accumulated toxins. But you also have to put back the good and to do that you must nutritionally cleanse not just take out the bad.
