If you aren’t aware yet about the danger we face regarding our entire food supply, then it’s time to wake up and smell the coffee.
Our food system is dramatically declining and has been ever since technology started to outdo what nature created.
How did we get where we are?
- Farmers were encouraged to leave their farms for the city, and as the cost of farming rose, family farms began to be replaced by huge corporations. In order for food to be produced on a massive scale, massive amounts of antibiotics, pesticides and herbicides are used and have contributed to a food supply devoid of nutrients.
- About 50 some years ago, life’s pace was getting faster and having food in a box that could be nuked or baked quickly became very appealing. Through smart advertising, these foods were touted and viewed as superior to home-cooked meals.
- The availability of all types of food is mind boggling. We can eat so many fruits and vegetables year round that normally one could only get if grown during the proper season they are available in. So locally grown alternatives became less reliable and less available.
- Because of overuse, our soil no longer gives us the nutrients we need to find in our food to sustain a healthy body. Even our produce is picked before becoming ripe, irradiated and painted to look ripe before hitting the shelves.
- Large companies, such as Monsanto, have created terminator seeds that won’t reproduce unless they are sprayed with a certain chemical. The worst part of this is if a farmer goes the biotech way, he is forbidden to collect his seeds for the next planting. Check out Percy Schmeiser, of Saskatchewan, and see how he dealt with Monsanto when charged for using their seeds illegally. There is no doubt that continuing the use of such seeds will inevitably lead to famine and starvation on a worldwid basis.
- GREED has infiltrated our food supply. Produce as much as you can and cut the costs as much as you can is the food producers’ motto.
Treating living organisms, like animals, honeybees and even bacteria, like machines, will inevitably backfire. And we are seeing evidence of this status now.
More animals are gettiing sick with “mad cow” disease, chickens are dying from bird flu, honeybees are dying by the millions, bacteria is resistant to antibiotics and mutating to create super versions of themselves. Things are crumbling.
If you value real food that is nutrient dense, then you have to make more selective choices.
Boycotting factory-made food and purchasing local varieties grown with integrity is a great start.
If you’re looking for fast food, then think about nutrient dense meal replacements that flood your body with the needed vitamins and trace minerals that are the building blocks of a healthy body.
