There are millions of us obsessing over how high blood pressure can cause heart attacks, strokes, heart failure or some other problem.

But it seems that high blood pressure is really not the issue.

Case study:  Take Joe who has 170/70 and Janet has 170/110.  Now most of us would say that Joe is healthier because his blood pressure is lower, right?

Wrong!

It seems that blood pressure is really not the number we should be concerning ourselves with.  The Framingham study has over 50 years of data from more than 10,000 patients and to answer the above question about who is healthier, Joe or Janet, they would answer Janet.

Why? Because it really is pulse pressure that is the true measurement of how far gone your arteries are.  The higher it is, the stiffer your arteries, the more strain onn your heart and the more likely yo’re going to drop dead.

But how do you measure this pulse pressure?

Very easily!

Start by substracting your bottom blood pressure number from the top number and  presto, you have your pusle pressure.  In Joe’s case, he has a pusle pressure of of 100 and Janet has 60.  Janet’s in better shape than Joe.

So what’s normal pulse pressure?

Forty or lower is great and anything higher indicates greater stiffness of your arteries.

Now why doesn’t your doctor know this?  Well, there really is no money in it.  Conventional blood pressure measurements are ideal for selling drugs.  Drugs will not drop your pulse pressure in any way so if you’re on high blood pressure medication, you will never get better.

But there is a simple solution.

It only takes 12 minutes and can be done at home.  What it involves is using a special gripping device  and squeezing it with 30% of your strength for 12 minutes a few times a week.  A clinical study was conducted in Canada and it was found that the average reduction in systolic pressure was 19 points.

It normailized the tester’s pulse pressure and blood pressure.  Getting your own gripper and doing the exercise correctly is the very simple key to throwing out those high blood pressure medications.

I would also add to this the importance of cleansing as this certainly helps the body clean the arteries and remove unwanted debris.

Who knew it could be so easy?
