5 Reasons Why Losing Fat Is A B.tch To Do..

If all worked the way it should, losing fat would be converted back into calories when the body required more energy. But today, it doesn’t happen like that any more and I’ll explain each point a little further down.

  1. We consume available carb calories before fat calories
  2. Our body is telling us one thing and fails us on another level
  3. Our body programming has not caught up to today’s commercially produced food
  4. Overeating causes our metabolism to stabilize at a higher fat level
  5. There is no escaping the toxins that are everywhere

Our body can be just as lazy as we are when it comes to having a mind of its own. I know that I don’t particularly like to exercise and would rather avoid it if I had a choice to do something else. Well, our body does the exact same thing when confronted with food. It will choose to convert to energy what is easiest to convert.

Carbohydrates are the simplest in form and the easiest for the body to quickly convert into energy. That’s why I crave carbs if I haven’t eaten in a while or after a strenuous activity, like exercising. The body always looks to available carbohydrates first before breaking down ingested and stored molecules of fat because fat is more complex and requires more work.

Because of that, our body tells us to look for more food long before it turns to stored fat. However, we no longer live in prehistoric times when you had to eat when food was plentiful and then rely on stored fat to make it to the next meal. Our biological programming has not caught up to the 21st century of preserved foods, farming and domesticated animals.

Although we can make conscious choices of what to eat and when, we too often give in to excess because it tastes good and we live to eat rather than eat to live. Actually, animals score one over humans in this area.

Do you have a dog or a cat? Does it eat dried food? Most likely. Do you leave it out for the whole day? Most likely. And does the animal eat it all right away? Most unlikely.

If food is continuously available, most pets will adjust their appetites and eat only what they need for optimum health. Most of us have yet to learn this lesson.

Let’s say you put on an extra 25 pounds. That’s what I did over the last 15 years. Although I did not do it by eating fancy meals on vacation but rather by eating what I normally ate when I was very active and later became more sedentary. This excess of food turned into fat because it had nowhere else to go but on my hips and thighs. I had cutback on exercise but not on food intake. You see?

We also eat too fast and don’t give our body the time to send us the “all full” signal. It takes about 10 to 15 minutes to make the connection. But too often we shovel down our food and sometimes go back for seconds in about 10 minutes flat.

To top it all, toxins are taking over and our body is so busy with other things that it can only surround the toxins with fat cells and considers it’s doing a good job of taking care of us.

We can’t escape toxins. They are everywhere and will be for the rest of our days. It’s just a fact.

However, we can do something about. Cleansing is the key out of this mess in order to rejuvenate our cells and protect our bodies against the aging process. As the body sheds the toxins it can’t help but shed the fat. That’s a given.

We’ve come full circle!
